Cassava starch, also known as tapioca starch, is a fine, white powder extracted from the roots of the cassava plant. It is highly valued for its neutral flavour, smooth texture, and versatility in both food and industrial applications.
Cassava starch production starts with thoroughly washing and peeling the cassava roots. The roots are then chopped / crushed or grated to release the starch from the plant cells. This starch-rich pulp is mixed with process water and passed through screens or centrifuges to separate the starch from the Fibers and other components. The starch is then washed multiple times in hydro cyclone system to ensure purity. After separation, the starch is dewatered and dried a fine powder, ready for use in various food, pharmaceutical.
We at UPE provide turnkey starch plants with 100% tailored made specifications and capacities.
